I think the new mac pro is the most exciting item out of WWDC. The specs are very impressive. " The machine maxes out with 12 cores of Xeon E5 power and a souped-up RAM subsystem that will peak at 60 gigabytes per second bandwidth. "
I think alot of businesses will find a use for it. Video Editing, game development, 3D stuff. Without getting a server I would think this is the fastest machine you can get at your desk.
Lotan - are you allowed to comment what you use to compile programs you work on? I guess it would be a server and code repository but do you compile programs you write at your desk? I would guess you have an i7 or Xeon. _________________ "Fuckin' Amesome" --- Joe Flacco

I'd say it was the most exciting thing, but only because it was really the only they thing announced. It was that and iOS 7 and there wasn't anything too groundbreaking in that. I was rather disappointed that the Air refresh was meh, and there was no macbook pro refresh.

I'm not actually sure if I'm allowed to talk about it, but it's really no big deal/secret as most big companies work the same way. Server code is tested locally, but built/deployed in a "cloud" like manner. Android code is generally done on your desktop or laptop.
i7? I don't work at Google. Check this link:

Highlight on the "Frugality" part. I use my personal Macbook Air for work because it's lighter and faster than the one they issued me. I'll probably be upgrading to a Macbook pro when they refresh it.
My desktop is a pretty standard "Not bad, but not great" machine. I actually stole it from an Intern though because when I started I was issued a "Pentium" |

Is that apple supposed to look like a trash can? _________________ Core meltdown (commonly known as a meltdown) is an accident scenario in nuclear reactors, and is one of the possible modes of failure for light water reactors, during which the reactor pile turns into a pile of reactor.
