They keep releasing "new" classes, even though they're already existing classes that are just redesigned. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

They specifically said it was an old, well-known class in RPGs, but that they redesigned it for Diablo and whatnot. They're talking about the story behind them right now, and the concept, and such. _________________ "The problem with quotes on the Internet is the validity of them." -Abraham Lincoln |

I just remembered the monk was in the expansion for the first game. Boooooo.
And I just tried to get D2 working on Vista. There's no real way to make it work on the 64-bit version. _________________ "Doctor Wu, your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery!" - Black Dynamite

They're talking about their attacks right now, they're so cool. Monk works off a combo-like system, where when you chain attacks together in 3 stages, the 3rd stage hits the hardest, and the attacks do different things depending on what stage you use them at.
For example, Exploding Palm causes a bleed DOT on stage 3 (internal bleeding type thing) and if the mob dies from the DOT he'll explode. _________________ "The problem with quotes on the Internet is the validity of them." -Abraham Lincoln |

No, I'm talking about the fact The Barbarian was already in D2, and the Monk was in the D1 expansion Hellfire. They are labeling these as new classes, even though they are simply redesigned original classes. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

By "new" they mean, this is the latest playable class we are talking about, not "this has never been done by anyone before, not even us!" _________________ "The problem with quotes on the Internet is the validity of them." -Abraham Lincoln |

Hey, terminology is important. They know this. It's all about selling the game, and if that means unintentionally misleading consumers, so be it.
But yeah, release it already. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

I know I'll sound like a fanboy, but I honestly have no problem waiting for the games. I know it sucks, but the whole "when it's ready" thing has worked out well for them, and I'd much rather wait for the better quality then get something that wasn't the best it could be. _________________ "The problem with quotes on the Internet is the validity of them." -Abraham Lincoln |

Oh, I'm with you on that. But that doesn't stop me from wanting it to be out now, in perfect form. Of course, too much time can be a bad thing. Just look at Duke Nukem Forever. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

I wouldn't mind another traditional Warcraft game. One that actually advances the story of the world. Something along the lines of a combination of the gameplay from WC2 and the narrative of WC3. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

I got D2 working. There's this new thing called a "patch" and it now works for me on Vista. It's as fun as I remembered it.
And I have to agree with the class retreads. Diablo is going to sell no matter what. Why not create mostly original classes to put it's stamp on the fantasy genre. _________________ "Doctor Wu, your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery!" - Black Dynamite

I say that as if WoW doesn't. Not one from a player-authoritative perception. MMO's do not really give the same story based presentation that single player games do. Your actions don't actually affect the world, whereas with a SP game the story is sculpted around your character alone.

Dung cleaner. Oh, and I don't remember off the top of my head where I actually get to play as a Witch Hunter. Too much stigma associated with it, I guess. _________________ "The cheese stands alone." - Madhatte |

I don't have a generic answer off the top of my head for an original character. That would defeat the purpose. Blizzard had a decade to think of a bunch. _________________ "Doctor Wu, your knowledge of scientific biological transmogrification is only outmatched by your zest for kung-fu treachery!" - Black Dynamite
