I'm working on paper about gender politics in Iran, and I'm finding it an extremely interesting topic. This writer of this article has such a blindingly obvious agenda that I'm not sure how credible some of it is.

For instance, birth rates don't go down because of pessimism. Birth rates tend to go down because of prosperity. This is why third world nations have higher birth rates than the U.S. The poorer you are the more children you are likely to have.

I was also under the impression that education at Iran's Universities was free so I find his stated reason for women turning to prostitution a bit suspect.
